A lot has changed at CHIKE for the start of the 2025 season: Firstly, the range has become more versatile for the 2025 season - the E-Kids, E-Cargo and E-Dog models are now available in two versions. Secondly, all models are powder-coated and assembled directly at the HARTJE factory in Hoya. This means that CHIKE will continue to be manufactured directly in Germany - as will all bodies.
CHIKE and Hermann Hartje KG are further expanding their existing co-operation by manufacturing directly on site. Tobias and Manuel Prager, both Managing Directors of CHIKE, were on site for the start of production. ‘We are delighted to be taking the step of producing CHIKE directly here in Hoya. The conditions are very professional, for example the powder coating is of a very high quality,’ said Manuel Prager.
The direct cooperation during assembly has also already resulted in a much more intensive exchange with product management, ‘which we hope will provide further impetus for model development in the future,’ added Tobias Prager.
Thomas Bauer, Managing Director of Production and Technology at HARTJE, explains: ‘We have reorganised production at our sites in Hoya and the e-Factory in the Czech Republic to ensure greater flexibility and planning reliability. One reason for producing CHIKE directly at our site is the high assembly quality that our employees consistently deliver in production. This step will also enable us to further expand our cargo bike expertise at HARTJE.’

A more versatile range with two model series
For the 2025 season, CHIKE is offering two versions of its E-Kids, E-Cargo and E-Dog models. While the tried-and-tested models have been given a drive upgrade and new designs, the SE models are an adequate basic version for excursions and everyday rides.
Technically, the upgrade essentially comprises the Shimano EP6 Cargo drive including 630 Wh battery with the high-quality GATES CDX belt drive and the automatic Shimano Inter E5 Di2 5-speed hub gear. With the more powerful motor, the new CHIKES are also increasingly suitable for geographically demanding regions or for frequent journeys with a large payload. The colour schemes with contrasting decals are visually new: CHIKE is now available in matt black/sand, melon yellow/grey and sage green/green.
The SE models in the colours matt black/sand and melon yellow/grey with the tried-and-tested Shimano E6100 cargo motor, the 418 Wh battery, the manually operated Shimano Nexus 5-speed hub gears and chain form a basic model that is a confident match for all requirements in the city and on excursions.
One base - three superstructures
All models correspond to the proven design with its often praised natural handling characteristics and compact dimensions. Each CHIKE reaches a maximum width of 73 centimetres and a length of 192 centimetres because the modular, interchangeable superstructures are positioned above the front bicycle area with the front wheels and the tilting chassis. The tilting chassis ensures the pleasantly agile steering behaviour of a CHIKE, while the associated elastomer absorbs shocks from the ground with ease.
CHIKE E-Kids
In the cabin of the E-Kids, one or two children sit comfortably and well protected next to each other in the sturdy aluminium construction with a waterproof canopy. They sit quite high, are strapped in with five-point harnesses and have an ideal panoramic view. Parents have the best view into the cabin via the roof window. There is also space for shopping in the optional side boxes or in baskets on the luggage carrier.
CHIKE E-Cargo
The E-Cargo carries loads on the versatile transport platform; the transported goods can be secured with straps that are fixed via the recessed airline rails. The optional conversion creates a transport volume of 300 litres. There is also a practical canopy for protection.
CHIKE E-Dog
With the E-Dog, CHIKE is tapping into a new target group - dog owners who like to use the Cargobike for everyday journeys in the city with their dog or for a long walk in the woods. The cabin is designed for medium-sized dogs. An optional pull-out step is available for more leisurely dogs. If the dog stays at home, the E-Dog is also ideal for getting his food.
